چکیده

The lethal and sublethal effects of Roundup (active substance glyphosate herbicide on phantom midge (Chaoborus flavicans, Meigen, 1830) larvae were checked in the range concentrations from 20 to 2000 μg/L, five-day long tests. caused mortality insects, with LC$_{50}$ values ranging 357.2 120.9 μg glyphosate/L, for one five days, respectively. correlation coefficient >0.9 indicated a strong positive between concentration water C. flavicans. Also, LT50 indicate toxic activity larvae. reaction mechanical stimuli was disturbed, dose-dependent manner. We also observed altered vertical migration midges within column. microscopic observations revealed malformations insect' morphology anatomy. Among most prominent changes were: body shape lower density chromatophores air sacs. These are tune observations. conclude that 360 Plus may cause significant flavicans populations, especially during exposure. This, consequence, lead decline population midges, next, affect organisms at other trophic levels.

Density- and Size-Dependent Winter Mortality and Growth of Late Chaoborus flavicans Larvae

Winter processes such as overwinter survival and growth of individuals can have wide-ranging consequences for population dynamics and communities within and across seasons. In freshwater organisms winter processes have been mainly studied in fish despite that invertebrates also have substantial impacts on lake and pond food webs. One of the major invertebrate consumers in lake and ponds is the ...

Multilevel effects of sublethal fenitrothion exposure in Chironomus riparius Mg. (Diptera, Chironomidae) larvae.

The effects of fenitrothion exposure on fourth-instar Chimnomus riparius larvae were investigated on biochemical, physiological, and population-level parameters. Biochemical effects were investigated through measurements of acetylcholinesterase and cytosolic superoxide dismutase activities. Water content and dry weight of the larvae were used as physiological parameters, and the emergence rate ...

Effects of clothianidin on aquatic communities: Evaluating the impacts of lethal and sublethal exposure to neonicotinoids

The widespread usage of neonicotinoid insecticides has sparked concern over their effects on non-target organisms. While research has largely focused on terrestrial systems, the low soil binding and high water solubility of neonicotinoids, paired with their extensive use on the landscape, puts aquatic environments at high risk for contamination via runoff events. We assessed the potential threa...
